A precept having its own day has its own value too. A precept is a guideline and principle. It helps guide one’s thoughts and behavior. This is a re-broadcast of an episode that originally aired on January 6th, 2013. "Marketing: Tai Chi".  This episode featured several teachers of Tai Chi: Carl Totton,David Dorian-Ross, Kim Ivy, Jah Amen Mobley, and Viola Brumbaugh. We'll be discussing the subject of "marketing Tai Chi and other internal arts". Tai chi is sometimes difficult to market to the public, because of the many preconceptions that the public has about Tai Chi. We'll be addressing "martial vs. exercise only", misconceptions about internal arts and its effect on marketing, good vs. bad marketing, etc. This show is applicable to martial arts in general, not just Tai Chi, so listen in!     No live callers will be taken as this is a rerun.

Special live coverage of the "Fundraiser Philippines" event. Event starts at 6 pm PST at House of Hong Restaurant in Seattle's Chinatown district, and will feature a full Chinese banquet and martial arts demos from Seattle's finest Martial Arts practitioners. Proceeds will go to the American Red Cross for Philippines Typhoon Relief.  This short episode will get some comments from some of the martial arts masters and forward information on where to donate for philippines typhoon relief.

Rene Latosa is an Escrima instructor with over 30 years of experience.He started his training at the first Escrima Academy established by Angel Cabales and Maximo Sarmiento in his hometown of Stockton, CA. He had the rare opportunity to not only learn from such greats as Angel and Max but world-renowned instructors such as Leo Giron and Dentoy Revilar. He later studied intensively from his own Father, (who had kept his knowledge secret from his son until he felt was ready to learn), several unique and effective Filipino combat fighting systems.   Today, Latosa travels throughout the US and Europe giving seminars, still multi-tasking, Rene holds a full time job as a Deputy Administrator for Management Services at the SF Housing Authority, this is after his retirement from the Federal Government as Director of Contracting.
