Ep. 613: Crossing the Darien Gap on a Motorcycle - Revisited - JD Smith
20/02/2020 Duración: 45minThe Pan-American Highway is an 18,000-mile continuous network of roads from the southern tip of South America to the northern tip of Alaska, with the sole exception being the Darien Gap, a 60 mile separation in the road through a nearly impenetrable jungle on the Panama/Colombian border. Most folks opt to go around the gap by boat or plane. Today’s guest, JD Smith, decided to go through the 99 mile long jungle by motorcycle instead. Needless to say, this is not your ordinary two-wheeled adventure.www.rtwmototours.comFacebook @RTWMotoToursInstagram: @jdsmithphxazAthletic Brewing Adventure Grant Application: https://athleticbrewing.com/pages/athletic-brewing-2020-adventure-grantTry CS Instant Coffee for 50% off your first order! Ep. 612: Family of 6 Thru-Hiking the PCT and More - Strawbridge Family
17/02/2020 Duración: 01h09minWhen a crippling amount of debt kept the Strawbridge family from going on family vacations, they quickly began looking for cheap ways to still enjoy an experience together. That necessity led them to camping and hiking. After realizing that this type of “vacation” was more rewarding the refueling than a tradition trip, they decided to go all in for an experience of a lifetime to celebrate getting back on track financially. That led to the idea of thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail as a family. I hope you enjoy this amazing story of great risk, reward, love, and faith. Ep. 609: Running & Blindness - Kyle Robidoux
06/02/2020 Duración: 35minIf you’ve ever felt limited by your circumstances or physical limitations, today’s episode is a must-listen. Back in 2010, Kyle was sick and tired of feeling terrible about himself and having a hard time playing with his daughter, so he decided to do something about it. Losing a large amount of weight by walking, and eventually running, is no easy task. After taking into account that Kyle is legally blind, the challenge is exponentially greater. However, that didn’t stop him from pushing forward, crushing limitations, and finding creative ways to exercise and run, without a full view of what was around him. 10 years later Kyle is running ultras on and off-trail, running between 20-25 hours per week, and advocating for folks in his situation through his career. Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours. - Richard BachKylerobidoux.comInstagram: @blindbeerrunnerTwitter: @kyleRrobidouxAthletic Brewing Adventure Grant Application: https://athleticbrewing.com/pages/athletic-brewing-2020-adventu

27/01/2020 Duración: 58minWhen Marty's 60th birthday came rolling around, he knew he needed to do something adventurous that took him out of his normal routine and into an entirely different frame of mind. Ep. 604: Chasing Fastest Known Times - Jason Hardrath
20/01/2020 Duración: 01h13minAfter a serious car accident that left him with limited mobility in his leg, Jason decided he was done letting time slip by that wasn't in the pursuit of some higher goal in places he loved to be. This led him to pursue wilderness-based FKTs (Fastest Known Times). To date, Jason has 35 FKTs in some of the most iconic and beautiful places in the American West. Many of those FKTs are on impressively difficult routes. The Cascade Trifecta, Rainier Infinity Loop, Crater Lake Circumnavigation, and Oregon's Five Highest are all FKT's Jason has under his belt.
