We might now know why the Patriots let wide receiver Josh Gordon walk while the team was struggling on offense. Gordon was slapped with his fifth suspension from the league and again, it's for substance abuse. Did Bill Belichick know this was coming and is this why the Pats let him go? Want some more controversy? Some leaked footage is now out there of the Patriots recording of the Bengals sideline. Does this help or hurt the Patriots?  The Patriots won on Sunday, sure. And in total, they did manage to get up 34 points. But Tom Brady looked again, like a game manager rather than a star quarterback. Can New England continue to win this way? The CLNS Media Patriots Roundtable is back for another week with Nick Quaglia, Marv Ezhan and Mike Molyneaux after a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.  The biggest story of the week... The refs. While the Patriots didn't play great, the refs seemed to have played a hand in what would be a one-score final. With some insanely horrific calls, and no calls, made by the officials, it truly affected the outcome. But regardless, Tom Brady and the Pats had their chances. Was Sunday's loss more on the Pats or the refs? Regardless of if you think the refs were the main cause of the Patriots loss, there's one thing we can all agree on. The Patriots offense needs some serious, serious help. Are the issues we're seeing on this Brady led offense fixable?  And finally, with the way the team's looked, let's ask this question. If the playoffs started today, how would you feel about Bill Belichick's team in the first round? Would they make it back to the AFC Championship? Or would they get washed out in the first round?

But now that we've made it this deep into the year, we've noticed something. The offense has been wildly underwhelming. Are the offensive shortcomings more on Tom Brady's shoulders or are the pieces around him not performing well enough? Something else that's been more and more noticeable. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens seem to be legit. They're also the only team that's beaten the Patriots this season. Is it critical that the Patriots grab the one seed and make sure that the playoffs go through Foxboro?  And finally, let's bring it back to the offensive shortcomings. During his weekly WEEI appearance, Tom Brady didn't sound so certain that he'll be back with the Patriots past this season.
