Part #1 of Membership Class: Who We Are – In this session we cover the basics about Wawasee Community Bible Church and the Evangelical Free Church of America, of which Wawasee Bible is a part.

The crown of all the covenants is the New Covenant. The New Covenant is the Gospel. It is God's incredible grace and mercy given to us in Jesus. The writer of Hebrews tells us that the New Covenant is a better covenant, founded upon better promises—because the one keeping both sides of the agreement is God himself, and God never breaks his promises.

God promises a Kingdom that will last forever to David in 2 Samuel 7. And the King who will reign and rule that Kingdom forever will come through David's lineage. And that King will be and is Jesus. As citizens of Jesus' Kingdom, now, and as a church that serves as an outpost of his Kingdom, we are to be all about honoring, serving, and loving our King. In short, it's all about Jesus!

We cover a very large portion of Scripture this week. Our focus in the Covenant series is to see God's pursuing love, his covenantal love toward his people. The story of Passover and the Exodus is one of the clearest demonstrations of this in all of Scripture, foreshadowing plainly the coming life, ministry, and work of Jesus. Multiple applications are spread throughout the message this week, and we wrap with a focus on forgiveness.

Message #5 – SERIES: Covenant Abram was a sinful and idolatrous man for most of his life before meeting Jesus. God rescues him from his sin and calls him to follow him, leaving everything he ever knew at the ripe old age of 75. God would give Abram a son by the womb of his barren wife, Sarai. He changes their names to Abraham and Sarah and through their line in Isaac promises a coming Redeemer in Jesus. Though he was sinful and often full of doubt, God drew near to Abraham time and time again in covenant love as his protector and great reward.

Message #4 – SERIES: Covenant The story of Noah is the story of the Gospel. Noah is saved by God's grace, and his rescue foreshadows our own rescue by Jesus. God's covenant with Noah demonstrates his relentless pursuing love and his vow to keep his promises—both to those who trust Jesus and to those who reject Jesus.

Message #3 – SERIES: Covenant The covenant of marriage is a reflection of God's covenantal love with us. Marriage is God's idea. It is intended to be an unconditional and unbreakable lifetime commitment between one man, one woman, and God himself. Biblical marriage is the foundation upon which family, culture, government, and society is built.

Message #2 – SERIES: Covenant God's covenant with Adam can be found in Genesis 1-3. God promises a savior to redeem us and deal with our sin. During the first part of this message, Pastor Josh lays out our plan to revise and restructure Church Membership at Wawasee Bible in the Fall of 2011.

Message #4 of 4 - SERIES: Money: God or Gift? Jesus demonstrates both his compassion and his authority in this passage. While he desires to serve us, he requires we remain faithful. We are to wait ready for his return, stewarding our lives, our time, talent, and treasure until the Master returns. (And he is returning!) Would you live and give in the same way if you believed Jesus were returning tomorrow?

Message #3 of 4 - SERIES: Money: God or Gift? This week we look at Jesus' commands again anxiety, worry, and fear, as well as his exhortation not to set our hearts on "stuff". Instead, we should set our minds and hearts on eternal things, for "where our treasure is, there will our heart be also."
