Episode 44 - "I wonder what would happen if I dipped the Pocky in here..."
11/07/2011 Duración: 51minHaving recovered from last week's show, we are once again eating things from the pantry shelf dedicated to things you, the listeners, have sent us. Thrills, chills, Pocky, and breadsticks await, in this thrilling episode of Kevin and Ursula Eat Cheap. Well, pocky and breadsticks, anyway. Once again, we eat it, so you don't have to. Even when we can't read the packaging.

Episode 43 - "Don't Mind me, I'm just praying for death"
04/07/2011 Duración: 54minWe're home! And almost recovered! And so, we delve back into the pantry for things that have been sent to us, including one "challenge" food: a can of Menudo. We were double-dog-dared to eat it. So it had to be done., right? We're back, and we eat it so you don't have to. And I expect you don't want to, either. But hey, a dare is a dare...

Episode 42 - The regretable third in a row
26/06/2011 Duración: 50minHi gang! This one was recorded before we left for DucKon, and we didn't get a chance to edit, or re-listen to it before we hit the road to AnthroCon. So, here's hoping you enjoy it!Remember, we eat it, so you don't have to - three times in one week.
-
Episode 41 - "This is what NAFTA brought us"
19/06/2011 Duración: 39minWe went to Wal*Mart, and bought breakfast foods. Why? We have no idea. Actually it's the only place to get the new Frozen IHOP meals, and while we were there we found a whole host of breakfast foods to share with you. Our innards may never be the same. But at least we ate it, so you don't have to.
-
Episode 40 - "It's like snot with attitude"
12/06/2011 Duración: 49minThis week we have a special treat - cheap food from Paris! (Don't worry, we won't try to pronounce it) There is also a lot of Seinfeld references, including a Soupman Soup, chocolate babkas, and the problems with the final episode. Throw in the three legged beagle, and it's just another week in our kitchen, where we eat it so you don't have to.
-
Episode 39 - "Aunt Jemima is trying to kill us"
05/06/2011 Duración: 46minToday, on yet another tour of terrible breakfast foods, we eat bad sausage, worse pancakes, a ham and cheese scramble that degrades us all, and learn the secret of why the pizza is always burnt. Toaster pastries! Dung beetles! THINGS! Thank your lucky start this week that We eat it, so you don't have to!
-
Episode 38 - "Now I remember why we drink heavily"
29/05/2011 Duración: 43minIt Came From The Piggly-Wiggly this week, as we review multiple items from the Pig which we will loosely call food. In between the horrors of Freezer Queen and the abyssal depths of the Piggly Wiggly house brand, we find time to discuss episiotomies, the strange cases of witchcraft related genital vanishments (Kevin is very sorry about this, he tried to stop her, really he did) and what to do if you are trapped on a desert island with only scab-shaped frozen pizzas. This time you should be glad that We Eat It, So You Don't Have To.
-
Episode 37 - "It's a severed limb that tastes like health food"
22/05/2011 Duración: 58minKevin gets drunk on Arrogant Bastard Ale. There is food as well, but that's really the important bit. We discuss the nature of cheap food, Scotch eggs, chicken slurry, a truly dreadful thing from Betty Crocker, a story about maggots, and play "Health Food Or Severed Limb?" with frozen eggplant.
-
Episode 36 - "Give me the scissors! And the bottle cap!"
16/05/2011 Duración: 58minAn exciting episode, as we recount our exciting visit to The Place Our Food Comes From, and our rather more exciting encounter with a snapping turtle in the road. There is also food! We analyze the sodium content of things we eat, conclude that we are doomed, drink horrible sangria, explore my fear of drowning in the car, rhapsodize about kohlrabi, make bean soup, and for once, I do not actually tell any awful stories about my relatives, although the phrase "sugar bush" is thrown around with great abandon.
-
Episode 35 - "The Aardvark Did It!"
08/05/2011 Duración: 49minToday there is bad beer. And also good beer. There is bad soup. And also good soup. There is good chocolate and even more good chocolate. There is mediocre wine, mediocre egg rolls, and a chicken casserole so uninteresting that I have already forgotten it. Along the way, we cover squeaky aardvarks, my childhood desire for a window seat, the cruel illusion of the "Lo" heat setting, why we cannot seem to stop eating Knorr pasta side dishes, and the newly discovered glory of kohlrabi. Remember we eat (and drink) it, so you don't have to!
-
Episode 34 - "Shine on you crazy, dog-grooming diamond"
02/05/2011 Duración: 51minIt's a Trader Joe's extravaganza today, as we sample meatloaf "muffins" (no, really) Mac & Cheese bites, Garlic Fries and Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. Along the way we visit the highways and byways of the Kashi Pesto Pasta Primavera and the comparative ghetto of the Banquet Chicken Nugget Meal (Hint: Tastes Like Cardboard!) and round it off with memories of Cheese Blintzes, dead relatives, and speculation into asparagus, dog groomers, and the breeding habits of deep-fried mac & cheese. Ursula pairs all this with a Villa Alena Moscato Sweet White Wine (Kevin has the beer). Thankfully (maybe not for us), once again we eat it, so you don't have to!
-
Episode 33 - "She went off the pill and her eyeballs exploded"
24/04/2011 Duración: 50minHappy Easter (if you celebrate it)! We are NOT eating easter foods, but since we're going to Easter dinner, we recorded lunch. And what a lunch! We had some Pasta-Roni Garlic & Olive Oil Vermacelli, tried a Lean Cuisine Swedish Meatballs meal, an Evol Veggie Fajita Burrito, and experienced a Smart Ones Home Style Pot Roast. In addition, Ursula will try a Man-Bait Maple Bacon Lollipop, we'll talk about InnovAsian Spicy Beef & Broccoli Family Meal Kit, discuss the El Monterey Cheese Enchiladas, and discuss the Pork Ribs Kevin made last night. You'll also get Kevin's Tuna Salad recipe, and get to hear a very confused Ursula eating a Mega Sandias con Chile y Sal Watermelon lollipop. Remember, we eat it, so you don't have to - even if Ursula can't figure it out.
-
Episode 32 - "The chicken's brain will be made of corn?"
18/04/2011 Duración: 49minSo we got this box from our friend Yassbet in Arizona. It has some really cool stuff in it, so we're eating it. We'll start with Soupless Ramen Teriyaki Salsa, and then dive into the CANDY! Salsa-Getti, Ibarra Chocolate, and a Guava Roll. We'll also go back in time with a Banquet Salisbury Steak, explore the amazing packaging in the Marrie Callender's Chicken Portobello Risotto, and try Nancy's Seafood Crabcakes. With all that, we will have Abita Abbey Ale (Kevin) and Duplin County Beaufort Bay wine (Ursula). All this and discussions of corn, you'll meet one of our cats, and if the local Mexican grocery is a Bodega or not. And remember, we eat it, so you don't have to!
-
Episode 31 - "He had this advanced medical condition where his penis had fallen off"
11/04/2011 Duración: 38minThis week, we're going back to our roots, and eating low-brow. And by low-brow, we're talking Hungry Man Pub Meals Popcorn Chicken with Spicy Rum BBQ Sauce! And White Castle Microwavable Cheeseburgers! And even Stofer's Welsh Rarebit. We'll also talk about two things from earlier this week, Honey Glazed Green Beans, and Buitoni Grilled Vegetable & Goat Cheese Agnolotti with White WIne Sauce. You'll also get the low-down on Ursula's Step-Grandfather, and maybe get more information than you bargain for. We're not drinking this week, since we had to drive right after recording (whichis also why this week's episode is posted a little late). Remember, we eat it so you don't have to - even when it's a whole POUND of FOOD! (And we're wondering who waits for me to say "Oh Lord" because you KNOW she's about to start...)
-
Episode 30 - "All the hot dogs have floated to the top"
03/04/2011 Duración: 42minWe fond all KINDS of cheap eats for this week. We start out with something from a truck stop - Heater Meals Mushroom Gravy, Mashed Potatoes & Beef. It heats itself! We also mix up some Zuko Mango Drink Mix, try out Pasta Leonardo Au Gratin Potatoes, Market Street Classics Beans and Franks, Kahiki Tempura Chicken, and Knorr Asia Sides Thai Sesame Noodles. We'll also discuss our experiences with Japanese Style Alimentary Paste Curry Udon and Zatarain's Zesty French Quarter Pasta Bake, read some listener mail, and play "where's the Beagle?" Along the way we'll have a little Siera Nevada Kellerweis Hefeweizen and a Bartles & James Margarita cooler. Remember, we eat it, so you don't have to, even when it heats itself!

I tried to write down what we ate as we ate it. I tried to keep track while we editied, but there was just no way I could get it right. This week, we opened a gigantic box sent by our friend and all around cool person Reece. Not only are we mystified by what to do with some of the contents, we eat some too! -

-
Episode 27 - "Tastes Like Floor!"
14/03/2011 Duración: 49minThere are few foods cheaper or more common than frozen pizza. So, this week, we're doing frozen pizza! From classics like Red Baron's Deep Dish Pizza to Ore-Ida Pizza Bites, with a Stoufer's French Bread Pizza thrown in for fun. We also try some healthy options, in particular Amy's Margherita Pizza and Kashi Mediterranean Pizza. We pair all of this with Vendange Pinot Grigio (in a box!) and New Belgum Fat Tire Amber Ale.We'll also talk about our eat fresh options this week, have some excitement with a microwave crisping tray, and yell "For Science!" at least once. -
Episode 26 - "And that's why we grew the Fifth Thumb!"
07/03/2011 Duración: 48minWow! Half a year already!
