At the start of this new series, we take a look back at the creation story in Genesis. Fundamental to God’s nature is that he is giving. From the beginning, God has been giving life and those of us who have received this life must give it too.

Those who love the lofty city with its promises of immediate gratification await God’s judgement. In contrast, those who remain faithful to God will reap the rewards of the heavenly city. God’s message through Isaiah tells us that what we love today, what gives us joy and pleasure, reveals where we live.

Egypt has commonly been presented as the oppressor of God’s people. In this sermon, we learn that despite God’s prophesied judgement over the people of Egypt there was salvation and healing to be found for those who hope in him.

Too often we tend to neglect wisdom when it is given to us. Such is the case with King Ahaz. He dismisses God’s message and follows his own way. Later, we learn what becomes of him and how it can be a cycle in our lives unless we take heed of God’s words.

What is your vision of God? In chapter 6, we get an inside look at Isaiah’s personal experience of God’s presence and how it forms his mission. The same is true for every believer—our vision of God shapes our mission.

What is grace? And why do we need to experience God’s grace? We will look at how we not only courageously communicate the truth about sin and salvation as a church, but we must also bring right alongside that the grace and mercy of Jesus.

Ephesians 2 gives us a picture of what sin is and what it does to our lives. What we listen to shapes our hearts and minds. In today’s world, we are constantly fighting the battle against the wisdom of the world. Pastor Adam teaches that in order to win the war we must sing God’s words and God’s wisdom.

The Psalms are not just all about praise or lament, they also recount the history of God demonstrating his faithfulness to his people. Tikae shares the importance of these psalms in our practice of remembering God’s faithfulness as an act of worship.
