    Francis Paul Wilson was born in 1946 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He developed an interest in fiction as a child, growing up reading Lovecraft, Matheson, Bradbury, and Heinlein. He attended Georgetown University in Washington DC and sold his first story to Analog science fiction magazine while still in medical school. In the following years, Wilson moved into writing longer works, with his first novel, Healer, being published in 1976. He is now the author of over 50 books.
