This week’s text highlights the ascension of Jesus and the coming of the Spirit. As Jesus goes up, the Spirit comes down, and the church goes out! That’s a great little summary, but there’s power in both the doctrine of the ascension - that Jesus is ruling now as the king of the world - and the coming of the Spirit - by which Jesus is continuing his ministry through the church today. We’ll look at these 2 movements and how they combine to send the church on mission.
