On this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX, Sean and Marc discuss the Nintendo Direct from 4.12.17 the ARMS and Splatoon 2 release date announcements. The new and old games coming to Switch. The cool games coming to the 3DS and YES! The Cloud and Bayonetta Amiibo's are finally coming too. The guys also spend time discussing the Xbox Scorpio specs, Microsoft embracing VR and refunds as well. They talk about the early outlook for the system, a potential price and more. Sean and Marc both have Persona 5 and they talk about the game, as well as the streaming controversy as well. Sean also spent some time with Mr. Shifty and Has-Been Heroes on Nintendo Switch. At some point, we will figure out how to avoid these breaks, but hey, at least we are back. On this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX, Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison discuss the possibility of an Assassin’s Creed TV show. What could they base it on? Could it be better than the movie? What do they think it needs to succeed? We discuss all of that. Plus, Activision officially announced Destiny 2. Does it have the potential to reel Sean and Marc into playing it? Not to mention, news on the deal between Sony and Marvel for Spiderman having an ending. A Batgirl movie being a reality with Joss Whedon directing too. Sean talks about his time with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 Remix and actually playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Marc played the new Gladio DLC for Final Fantasy XV.

After another little break, there is some news to discuss with a triple set of video game movies in the works. One of them being Sleeping Dogs. Another week passes and we stand another week closer to the release of the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima went on a rather lengthy series of interviews talking about ports coming to Switch, no backwards compatibility and more. Destiny 2 has been confirmed by Activision. PS4 Beta firmware introduces External Hard Drive use. E3 goes public for 2017. There’s even a Castlevania TV show in the works over at Netflix.Plus, Take-Two Interactive admits they have licensed some franchises for possible film adaptations. Retailers looking to take a slice out of digital pre-orders? Could getting physical copies early really lead to more buys? We discuss all of this and more. Nintendo has revealed more spec information on the Switch, including confirming some pertinent questions. Nintendo also has good and bad news on their financials. This includes strong sales for Pokemon Sun and Moon. EA also has some interesting financial stuff, with Titanfall 2 sales causing some speculation as to what it means for the franchise’s future. Eidos puts Deus Ex Franchise on hold. Sony even has financial news too. Sean and Marc talk about their time with Yakuza 0. Marc’s also been playing Tales of Berseria. While Sean picked up Kingdom Hearts 2.8 as well.

What did they think of what was said by Nintendo in the one hour presser. Is $299.99 the right price for the system? March 3, 2017 is six weeks away and that's the release date. Pretty crazy to think it's coming that fast. What did we think of the games shown, including Super Mario Odyssey, ARMS, a new Shin Megami Tensei, a new Square-Enix game and more. The guys discuss Bethesda’s decision to pull early review copies and only begin to hand them out 24 hours prior to the release of their games. We discuss the pros and cons of this decision, how it affects reviewers and gamers, and why this will turn out a bad thing for the future. There’s also more information from Nintendo about the Nintendo Switch, including when we can expect more information to be revealed about the product. On a special Thursday edition of VG2M, Nintendo finally reveals the Nintendo Switch, which is the new name of the former codename NX. They decided to show a three minute and 37 second trailer and in it, plenty of easter eggs, information, and questions. Sean and Marc discuss everything about the reveal, the trailer, if they are excited about the console, and any questions or concerns they have about the system as well. They also talk about the developer reel announced for the system. Possible Wii U ports and more. That’s not all, Rockstar also showed off the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. Sony is making mobile games again. NPD numbers for September 2016. More VR games being made. A Captain Planet movie is a thing. In addition, quite a few more news items are on the docket as well. Sean talks about his time with the Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo and the new Rock Band Rivals expansion too.

Due to Sean having to make a trip to Texas for a Funeral and work getting in the way after that, the guys have had to delay the podcast until today. We are on the eve of the release of Playstation VR and there are already quite a few games that could be coming to the device in the future. Not to mention, projections for its sales until the end of 2016. Shawn Layden has also mentioned updated PSVR units and non-gaming applications for it as well. Aside from VR talk, Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison discuss a few delays, namely Gravity Rush and Cuphead moving into 2017. Voodoo Vince is getting a HD remaster. Call of Duty and Gears of War are both getting movies. Plus quite a few things from New York Comic Con too. In addition, Marc talks about his time with Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4.

Although there’s still two days left of the 2016 Tokyo Game Show, we still have a show to do. Amidst the new Pokemon Sun and Moon announcements, a new Digimon game coming, Naruto, Misou Stars, and other things from there, surprisingly other news abounds. Many of those things are game delays from Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and Last Guardian to South Park: Fractured Butt Whole and more. There have been layoffs at Sony’s San Diego studio, best known for the MLB: The Show series. The 1998 unreleased Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clan leaked online. There’s even more movies based on Video Games coming out too. Monster Hunter is getting a film and so is Resident Evil, but thankfully it is of the CGI variety. Marc talks more about World of Warcraft: Legion, testing out Overwatch, and playing Bioshock: The Collection.

Well, Sony had their Playstation Meeting and did announce the PS4 Pro for a nice price of $399. They also officially announced the PS4 Slim for $299. They showed some gameplay footage for known games like Mass Effect Andromeda and Horizon: Zero Dawn. However, without having a 4K TV it was also hard at times to tell what was really supposed to be impressive about it. Daniel Anderson joins Sean and Marc to discuss all of this, plus some news related to Nintendo’s mobile titles, Battlefield 1 Open Beta, and more.

So much to talk about on this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX. Sean and Marc played the Titanfall 2 Tech test. They are also joined by Austin Foncannon to talk about Nintendo’s 3DS focused Nintendo Direct and quite a bit of games news came out of that too. There’s more Nintendo NX rumors abound. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare open beta announced, the passing of Gene Wilder, and much more. Sorry we missed last week, as real life and work just didn’t allow for us to be able to have a podcast. However, we return this week, albeit a little later than usual. There has been a few things leak since the last time we had a show and we plan to talk about them. It looks like the PS NEO will not be the only PS4 model being revealed on September 7. A PS4 Slim also appears to be in the works and how does this differ from the backlash Microsoft received for the Xbox One S. We also talk about the biggest overblown story in that Sony revealed PS Plus was going up to $59.99 starting around this time next month. Nintendo also confirmed a few more games for the Nintendo NX and will also allow Wii Remote play for some games as well. Konami made Metal Gear fans angry with the announcement of Metal Gear Survive and could Mass Effect remasters seriously be on the way? We talk about all of this and more in this edition of Video Games 2 the MAX. Marc also finally gets to talk about his time with No Man’s Sky as well.

So, it’s been another week in video games and there are some things to discuss like Sony setting a date for a special event, which probably is the reveal of the PS NEO. The Xbox One S causes some issues in Europe, Nintendo has to deal with fan made games, but at least they have another third party into making games for NX, and much more. Sean discusses his time with Telltale’s Batman episode 1, Marc talks about Headlander too. Marc does have No Man’s Sky ordered, so hopefully on next week’s show, we can have a nice discussion about one of the big releases of 2016.

Another week in Video Games and at least one thing remains consistent, there’s something Pokemon related to talk about. Not only have Nintendo revealed more information about new things that will be in Pokemon Sun and Moon, but Pokemon Go has people enraged too. One man even filed a lawsuit against Niantic because he doesn’t like people invading his private property. There’s also Telltale’s Batman having some issues with framerate and maybe not being the big hit many expected either. Final Fantasy is getting a season pass, Ubisoft announces “Just Sing,” MTV creates a MTV Classic channel, and there could even be a Star Wars TV series on the horizon too. So, join Sean and Marc as they navigate through the gaming week, much like everyone else, without the use of a nearby “Three Step” mechanism.
