800-CEO-READ
17/04/2007 Duración: 30minWhat Got You Here Won't Get You There Interview With Marshall Goldsmith In this interview I talk with Marshall Goldsmith, author of What Got You Here Won't Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful. What intrigued me about the book was Marshall writing a book for successful people. I find that idea counterintuitive—most successful people I know don't think they need much help. Marshall makes a great case for why that is the barrier that keeps those people where they are. We talk about how leaders' suggestions become orders, how leaders should talk publicly about what they are trying to improve if they hope to get better, and how your efforts towards improvement should start at home. Duct Tape Marketing with John Jantsch
17/04/2007 Duración: 18minMarshall Goldsmith is quite possibly the most noted leadership training expert on the planet. Well, maybe that's a stretch but you sure couldn't guess that from the who's who list of CEOs that call him whenever they get stuck. Marshall stopped by the Duct Tape Marketing Podcast recently and we talked about his new book - What Got You Here, Won't Get You There. I think small business owners can relate to the fact that often they keep bumping up against plateaus and can't seem to sustain any meaningful growth. Goldsmith really nails the things that people do over and over again, thinking they are the things that made them successful in the first place, when in fact, it's these very things that hold them back. His book calls for examining and then changing those things that hold you back. Small business owners don't get enough feedback from their employees because nobody in the HR department is telling them it's time for open ended review of the boss. Just do it, and figure out where you sabotage your growth.
