Sam Davis preached a sermon after the defeat of Braddock, in the French and Indian war, that sent shock waves through the fledgling colonies. The summation of his sermon was this: We were defeated yes, but God deemed it necessary that we would be defeated, because there is a need for righteousness...and we don't have it. Paul commenting on the Kingdom of God said " With much tribulation do we enter the kingdom of God." America was a miracle because of the extraordinary stress put on a people, to test their resolve. Would they fear God, or No? This sermon, in a series of sermons on the Kingdom of God, points out that the Kingdom, the triumph of Righteousness is nothing new...it is something that needs to be awakened in the Churches and stirred in our hearts as a people to pick up the pieces of the Lost Miracle and be the Pillar and ground to the Truth for the world.
