Hi there, I’m Jack and I’m Raminta and welcome back to Lithuanian Out Loud where we offer the world the Lithuanian language.  Today we’re in a new month!  August was named in honor of Augustus Caesar in the year eight before the common era (8 BCE).  In Lithuanian this month is rugpjūtis, named after the word for rye, rugiai and pjauti, to cut.  It’s rye cutting month.
