The truth is that retirement is not a one dimensional reality. Rather, it’s more like an iceberg more readily viewed from a distance as either an opportunity or some kind of unexplored territory. Under the surface are many interrelated dynamics of temperament, personality and attitudes toward knowing what it is we want to do with, as Mary Oliver calls it “our one wild and precious life.” With us today, to talk about the wonders of the undiscovered path, are two sisters from the Midwest, Melinda and Mary. Melinda just recently retired as a high school principal in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mary is a pharmacist in Minneapolis, MN planning to retire in early 2022.
