Doing anything in the outdoors carries a certain amount of danger with it. Even hiking can be deadly if people are unprepared or ill-equipped. People still hike, though, and they still bike, climb and backcountry ski. In recent months, two people have died in avalanches; one near Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and one in the Teton Valley. So, why do people risk their lives to be in the outdoors?
