Overview: Give To Caesar What Is Caesar's And To God What Is Gods. Matthew 22:15-22. In our sermon this week, first we talked about how the religious leaders responded to the rebukes of Jesus in the parables that He had just given them. They could have repented, but instead they chose to harden their hearts and send their disciples to attack Jesus through their disciples. Next we took a look at how the disciples of the Pharisees come and attack Jesus. They come to Him some Herodians along with a question about whether it is lawful to pay taxes to Caesar. Why would the disciples of the Pharisees ask Jesus, a spiritual leader, a question about paying taxes to Caesar? Who are the Herodians, and why did the disciples of the Pharisees come with them?
