Overview- Their Verdict of Him Was Guilty, And Their Sentence Of Him was Death. Matthew 26:46-57. In our last sermon, we looked at how Judas came with a multitude of Roman soldiers to arrest Christ in the garden, and this week we get to see where they take Him. Where did they take Him? They take Him to a trial that was set up by the high priest and the council of the Sanhedrin, in the high priests courtyard, where they had already determined they would give Him a verdict of guilty, and sentence Him to death! But Jesus was innocent of any charges that anyone could have ever brought against Him because He never sinned or broke any laws period. So why take Him to trial by court, planning ahead of time to give Him a verdict of guilty, and sentence Him to death? Who is the judge and who was in the jury?
