Sinopsis
Ever see someone walking down the street that you have never met before and they immediately remind you of your ex? That's a thin - slice. The concept of thin slicing was first introduced in Malcolm Gladwell's book Blink. The formal definition is as follows: Thin-slicing is based on our past lived experiences positive or negative which we cannot control. When meeting someone they might awaken a memory of a past teacher, friend, colleague, or ex-boyfriend. There is no telling what your physical appearance might awaken in the mind of the person from whom you are seated across. Thin Slicing and Social Media In general, a thin-slice is incongruent with whom the person is. Which is why it becomes critical to use language to re-frame the person's perception of you. Now...what the heck does that have to do with social media and how can you use this knowledge to alter people's thin slice of you! Tune in to find out!
