Calls are being made for the insurance industry to be up-front on how they will deal with faulty steel mesh.Steel and Tube has been fined almost $1.9 million for misleading representations about the strengths and stability of its steel mesh.It was used in the Christchurch earthquake rebuild.EQC Fix spokesperson Mel Bourke told Chris Lynch home owners deserve an answer.She says the insurance industry needs to produce a clear statement on how they will deal with this in the future - rather than waiting until after an event.Mel Bourke says MBIE also need to state their position.
