Our war for independence was fought because of the restrictions England wished to place upon the Colonies. Those restrictions would have destroyed us as a nation. Those restrictions were deigned to serve man and not God. The same restrictions cost a multitude of British lives as they fought against a massive Zulu attack. Before the soldiers could receive ammunition they had to stand in line and sign out for it with the quartermasters. The soldiers held their peace and did not protest the delay. It cost them their lives! They should not have held their peace. Queen Esther did not hold her peace and saved her nation. The point of today’s sermon is duty. To know when it is our duty to remain silent and when it is our duty to not hold our peace but to speak out. The Word of God instructs us to speak out against evil.
