Pulp Crazy

In this episode I will be discussing The Festival by H.P. Lovecraft. I would like to thank the Lovecraft eZine guys for bringing it to my attention on their recent video chat. The Festival appeared in the January 1925 issue of Weird Tales. The story is set during Christmas time or more appropriately, the Yuletide. The Festival is one of the first Cthulhu Mythos stories. Lovecraft's visit to Marblehead, Massachusetts in 1922 is said to have inspired the story. The tale seems to be set in the early 1920's and features a nameless narrator returning to Kingsport, Massachusetts, the home of his ancestors.
