But because America doesn't believe that Black lives matter and Betty Shelby "feared for her life," she doesn't have to face any consequences for her misjudgment of the situation the cost Terence Crutcher his life. The reality that in 2017 we still are trying to prove to America that Black lives matter is maddening. I think it's time to stop waiting for majority Society to decide that Black lives matter. I think it's time for us to make them matter. But like Beyoncé said, we must "get in formation." Terence Crutcher, Philando Castile, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, Walter Scott, Sandra Bland, et al...these instances will continue to occur until we get more Black lawyers in America. We are fighting these battles shorthanded...relying on others to fight for us. With Black lawyers making up only 4% of the nat
