Nerd Moments

Swagger sells. Why? Because it makes people feel safe. It's the same psychological logic behind why romantically speaking, we're instinctively drawn to people with confidence-- and in particular, people who don't really seem to NEED our love or attention. I'm not saying it's right, or that it's fair, I'm just saying it's true. In my experience as well as what I've heard about lots of other people's experiences, I've found that the less I need people to buy my stuff, the more they seem to want to. We're attracted to success when we make purchase decisions because it looks and feels like proof that the thing we're buying is good enough to be in demand. It's scary to feel like you're the only one buying something. Like, "what does everybody else know about this product or service or person that I don't know? Am I getting ripped off here?"
