Sinopsis

60: Block Periodization Block periodization provides coaches with the opportunity to structure an athletes training program with a newfound level of flexibility. Block periodization is a sequence of autonomous stages woven together, to create a full year. It consists of three cycles (accumulation, transmutation and realization) that can each last from 7 days to 3 months, depending upon the athlete, the time of year and their goals.   Block periodization improves upon some of the flaws found in classical periodization, to include:   Conflicting physiological responses from “mixed” training Excessive fatigue elicited by prolonged periods of multi-targeted training Insufficient training stimulus from medium to low concentrations of mixed training Inability to peak for multiple races through an entire season   INTERVIEW LINKS:   http://coachmentorship.com http://endurancesportsuniversity.com   Follow the show on Twitter: @esportsonfire Follow the show on Facebook: facebook.c
