This week, I was searching for a topic to explore with you when I picked up a copy of the March 2013 Wine Spectator with a feature on Bordeaux and the 2010 vintage that was recently released. I gave it some thought and decided that maybe you should know more about this incredible vintage. Many of you are familiar with first and second growths that carry prices of hundreds, even thousands of dollars. You are probably familiar with the wine districts of Bordeaux - Medoc, Pauillac, St. Julien, St. Emillion, Pomerol, etc. But, I will bet that you are not familiar with BLAYE. Blaye lies on the right bank of the Gironde River, north of St. Emilion and it is the "My Secret Bordeaux" and I am going to tell you about it.
