Alexandra Piper is a leader of Smart Connected Cities business at GHD Digital. Alex brings together technical expertise from across GHD to provide Smart Technology Solutions to their clients while driving the market focus for GHD Digital in WA. A Civil engineer by profession with over 20 years of experience mainly in the transportation field, Alex has been part of the digital transformation of transport solutions. These solutions include: Project management of the first variable message signs on Perth freeways, the first wireless detectors for monitoring vehicle flows for Main Roads WA and; the first network operations Strategic Plan for the Gateway WA project, on utilising intelligent transport solutions to successfully operate the road network for the next 30 years. Now Alex is project managing a trial for free public WiFi on Perth's public transport network.
