Jesus promised His followers that they will receive "power" when the Spirit comes. That promise was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost, 50 days after the Resurrection, when the Holy Spirit filled the gathered assembly of Jesus' followers and birthed the church. On this Pentecost Sunday, we examine the proofs of Pentecost power, the people's witness to Pentecost power, and the purpose of Pentecost power in creating a new community that transcends human boundaries.
