Welcome to Calvary. We are a growing church, meeting in many locations around the world, helping people to know Jesus, find community and make a difference. It’s the surprises that make Christmas the most wonderful time of the year. When you buy the perfect gift, a surprise visit from a loved one, or maybe even an unexpected Christmas bonus (a hopeful thought!), the joy that accompanies surprise is a special kind of joy. But the ultimate surprise? The Christmas story itself. We assumed God would stay afar off - but He came near! We assumed a natural conception – but He was born of a virgin (a surprise to Joseph, no doubt!) We assumed God would arrive in power – He came as a newborn! We assumed a King born in comfort – He was laid in a manger! It’s news so good, none of us would have guessed it. The longer we think about it, the more the Christmas account ought leave us surprised – surprised by joy!
