Far too often, the medical boards tend to gravitate towards what makes the most money or what is politically expedient, and that presents a problem for the members they represent, and the patients whose interests they are supposed to look after. Dr. Jill Simons is the executive director of the American College of Pediatricians which was formed precisely because the American Academy of Pediatrics started down the path of what was politically expedient. Dr. Jill Simons is a Board-Certified Pediatrician. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School and completed residency, also at the University of Wisconsin. As a resident she was involved in child advocacy issues and co-authored papers on Fitness for Youth, and Child and Infant Car Restraint Safety. She was in private practice in Minnesota until becoming Executive director of The American College of Pediatricians.
