Clayton Fountain was born a military kid, as he and his siblings moved around every couple years. While his father was in the military and his mother was at work, Clayton, the oldest child, would be a surrogate for his younger siblings. When he got of age, he joined the US Marines like his father, but things didn’t go as smoothly. At 19 years old, he shot and killed his staff sergeant for writing him up. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and sent to the United States Penitentiary in Marion, Illinois, the highest security prison in the country at the time.
