Bryan Heiderscheit, PT, PhD is a UW Health physical therapist with a doctorate in bioimechanics and advanced expertise in orthopedics and rehabilitation. Bryan is also a professor and vice chair for research in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health as well as the director of UW Badger Athletic Performance. Bryan has advanced expertise in treating sports and running-related injuries in athletes of all ages and activity levels. He diagnoses and treats knee and joint pain, bone stress injuries and overuse injuries, such as Achilles tendinopathy, which causes swelling and pain in tendons and muscles. Educating people and involving them in their care are high priorities for Bryan. He gives athletes the knowledge, guidance and motivation they need to play an active role in their recovery.
