Dr Brenda Alegre shares her story of a happy childhood in the Philippines where she felt loved and supported as she evolved into her true self: a transgender woman. She worked hard at school, had lots of friends, felt loved by her family and admired many super heroes, including Wonder Woman who was her favourite. She faced negativity and discrimination at times as an adult, but this just made her stronger and inspired her to work harder to be successful and make a difference in the world. Brenda is an incredible person who has a multitude of achievements to her name. Some of her accomplishments include being a Registered Psychologist, she is on the Board of Directors of STRAP – The Society of Transsexual Women Advocates in the Philippines and she is also the Trans Secretariat of ILGA; the International LGBT Association.
