Continuing the Story of Moses, and the instigation of a new commands and a new covenant. God needed to put some guidelines in place now that he was going to live among his people. The Israelites never got to be in a close, personal relationship with God because their sin still separated them from God - that's why he had them build the 'holy of holies' in the tabernacle. But through the atoning sacrifice and forgiveness of Jesus, we no longer have that obstacle - God now dwells within us - so we had better make sure we are prepared for that too!
