Alex's Hail Mary campaign to get into federal parliament continues with a man who knows politics like the backbench of his hand, Harvey Miller from Client Liaison.

In episode 1 of season 2 of MIRTH, we recap on a big first outing during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, before getting our teeth sunk into a new direction for the podcast. A direction that not even the hosts saw coming...(that sounds a bit clickbaitey- it's a temporary 4 week political direction just so you know.)

Season 1 of MIRTH comes to a thrilling conclusion, with Steph Tisdell introducing us to an ingenious new app, Rhys Nicholson holding the fort, and Josh Ladgrove racing the clock to make it onto the podcast he's missed 3 times.

Alex has more guest controversy, Kyran has more dog controversy, and our guest Rowan Thambar -not to be outdone- accidentally incriminates himself in something. We're not sure if it's too serious cos we're not lawyers, but just in case if you are a Police Officer please don't listen to this.

It's towards the end of the season and we're sick of stand ups, so instead we roped in triple j journalist Alice Matthews and All Our Exes Live In Texas singer Georgia Mooney to add some semblance of sanity to the Mirth sofa. It was semi-successful.

In our most bizarre spread yet, we're LIVE AND SPICY from the Melbourne City Council Parks, Property and Waterways Brach Meeting, as well as sitting down with elder stateswomen of the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Maureen and Edith from Granny Bingo + Collingwood FC AFLW player Eliza Hynes.

We discover why Kyran's schedule freed up a bit. We also discover what image Becky Lucas posted on Twitter to get her cancelled by feminists. But what we DON'T discover is why Daniel Sloss is itchy. But I tell ya what, we have a ruddy good guess...

We enter the mad world of the UK's biggest talk show host Dick Griblett, who happens to not be known by anyone in the UK and yet is doing a live comedy show in Melbourne. We also have our first ever episode of PLANT CHAT with Greener House's Maggie Dunleavy

Matt & Alex join forces once more to discuss the two biggest ordeals in life; Childbirth, and taking the Skybus.

Alex manages somehow to book a full lineup of guests! Lucy Watson shares her London kebab shop real estate expertise, Dane Simpson desperately searches for a simple grilled cheese in Melbourne and Paul Foot? Well...look, it's really hard to pinpoint a single motif from his sprawling verbal adventure, but I'm pretty sure he visited Atlantis one time.

In a very special -Behind The Bar- episode, comedy legend Shaun Micallef invents his very own cocktail with the help of Australian Boutique Spirit expert Kate Hoskin. It's bedlam.

Irish comedian David O'Doherty tries to establish who would win in a fight between Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street band and Kylie Minogue and her back-up dancers, amongst other important topics of conversation.

Susie Youssef is back in the host saddle with Kyran Wheatley as they, Cal Wilson and Cameron James discuss on-screen kisses, best mates and on-screen kisses with best mates.

Brisbane's The Kite String Tangle is our very special MIRTH's musical guest and proceeds to make us jealous of his comedy experiences, and Eli Matthewson tells us a gay fact. For real.

John Hastings and Nikki Briton get 8 minutes notice that they're scheduled casual catch-up for a drink in BOB bar will now include two hosts, some microphones, an audience, and will be labelled MIRTH episode 10. It goes surprisingly well.

We discover just how crap Kyran and Alex are at bartending, and Ciaran Lyons pops by to let us know why he's moved in with parental substitutes.

Comedian Alex Ward and ABC News Breakfast's Georgie Tunny are both from Brisbane, and Alex Dyson mock's them for it for 25 enjoyable minutes.

Alex is still in Perth, or at least in the sky somewhere coming back from Perth, so Rhys Nicholson dropped by for the first half as we just sat back and had a very chill chat for half an hour with the incredible Cal Wilson and hilarious Stu Daulman.
