Pastor Brent kicked off a month-long series on Colossians. After a sharing an overview of this powerful letter, Brent pointed to us to a most important question: Is Jesus prominent or preeminent in our lives? We looked at three, practical ways to find an answer to this question.

We witness from Acts 11 how God's new people possesses new purposes. These purposes of sharing the gospel, strengthening the church, & serving the needy reflect what it means to be a "Christian," as evidenced in Acts 11:26. 

God sends Peter to share the gospel with Cornelius, a roman centurion, which continues the movement of God's mission from Acts 1:8. 

The story of Saul's conversion demonstrates how the gospel can transform even the very worst of sinners. 

The story of Acts boils down to God advancing His gospel for the transformation of people and cities. This past Sunday, we looked at Acts 8 to see the unstoppable gospel demonstrated in the life and ministry of Philip. God advances His gospel (then and now) by allowing difficulties, sending missionaries, and creating unique opportunities. Stephen's life was marked by his character, calling, and convictions. Through his ministry, the world around him was changed. Consequently, as we live shaped by the Spirit, we can change the world around us as well.
