Kellie has had a life full of ups and downs and we talk a lot about them. From living as a woman for a year when she was 18, getting involved in boxing and going to the highest point you can in the sport, starting a transition and ultimately ending her career because the hormones were affecting her. She also talks about what brought her back to the sport this year. Kellie also opens up about her struggle with mental health and multiple attempts to take her own life. Shelley Holroyd says that when she competed for Team Great Britain in javelin at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, everyone around her knew she was gay. She never had a coming-out moment, people just always knew. Now she's talking about being gay as part of a campaign to promote the Athletics Pride Network, which is designed to bring together LGBTQ people in track and field. Took a few weeks off because of my work schedule and now we have the world on a break as we get past the Corona Virus pandemic.
