What we do as entrepreneurs is think there’s a strategy out there that, once we get it, it’s all going to work for us and business will boom. Strategy is important, but it’s almost like the car you drive. The car is important, obviously. But without the person getting in it, it’s not going anywhere. It could be the most beautiful Ferrari, but it’s really the driver that makes the difference. I stumbled into this realization when I had my son. All of a sudden, running two businesses and raising a baby felt like something had to give. I started having an either/or conversation internally. That story I built in my mind was holding me back.
