The New Federal Regulations on Overtime Pay and How They Will Affect Your Church

Informações:

Sinopsis

Christine Lambrou Johnson, speaker. The U.S. Department of Labor has issued new regulations which will require churches to pay overtime for all employees paid less than a baseline annual salary of $47,476—that is a more than double increase from the old baseline of $23,660. This Rule, which takes effect on December 1, 2016, will have a significant impact on some of our churches. Christine Lambrou Johnson will share with us how the rule applies to Church employees and, in particular, which kinds of employees may be exempt from the regulations under the “ministerial exception.” Christine Lambrou Johnson is Of Counsel with Gammon & Grange, P.C. She is an experienced litigator with substantial expertise in labor and employment matters. She concentrates her practice on the day-to-day counseling of employers concerning their obligations under federal and state labor and employment law, on the resolution of employment disputes, and on business litigation generally.
