Bit Storm

In our second annual Game of the Year special we discuss the GOTY games that don't exist but should! With pitches ranging between 2 and 5 words from some of the best and brightest of the AGPN network, Dinosaurs eating pizza while wearing Nikes, Spiderman mixing music and skateboarding, and a Bit Storm feature heavily. Trev and Ben finish the episode by pitching their own GOTY games.

Sam from the Hungry Gamers joins Ben and Trevor and together they click their way to a horrific holiday season! Daddy's cocaine mistake, an open world Santa simulator, a sub delivering letters to Santa during WW2, a rogue-like side scrolling beat 'em up, and more!

Ben and Trevor continue to reimagine old DOS games as new, and then proceed to play some more Ramped Up Click Pitch. Games include Magic Pockets, Star Control, a game where you play as a Cauliflower who has joined a pirate crew, a Saved by the Bell game with a difference and a game where Hulk is the smart one and Bruce Banner has a lower IQ.

A narrative heavy episode with a soldier working through her PTSD via scrapbook, a wanna-be jester finding out he is heir to the throne, a bad-ass buff wizard performing field medicine, vampire cats, plus Ben & Trevor re-imagine some games from their childhood: Thexder and Little Big Adventure

Ben and Trevor attempt to reimagine some old DOS games as current day titles, before jumping back into some Ramped Up Click Pitch. Games discussed included programming robots to pick nectarines and not humans, competitive carpeting and a Sliding Doors inspired adventure game. Reimagined games included Commander Keen, Rocket Jockey, Magic Carpet and Quarantine.

The first episode of a new era of Bit Storm is upon you... and we're doing the same stuff as before. In ramped up click pitch this week Ben and Trevor discuss the ethics of aerosolising vaccines, the greatest new superhero who happens to need a wheelchair, Grimace gets a new backstory and people are turned in zombies by a pheromone.

Triple Digits! Recorded at PAX Australia in the wonderful Audio Technica booth, Ben and Trevor are joined by Jono Pech and Jack Kruse for episode #100! Maids as ammo, a post apocalyptic hot air balloon adventure, an ensemble cooking game starring the underused Apogee and Square Enix properties, a puzzle game where you need to accomodate smokers, a VR basketball/deli game, and more!

Trev and Ben discuss a number of imaginary games once again in their Ramped Up Click Pitch segment. Games include a magic version of the sex talk, a conspiracy theorist who happens to be right about all his theories and an Orwell / Hacknet style game based in an alternate universe.

A hobgoblin who starts a craft brewery, a phosphorent security guard, a pompous home owner, knock-off super heroes, a gritty remake of Gex, plus we return to the world of Starch Wars! All this and more in this week's Bit Storm, as Ben and Trevor ramp up Click Pitch again.

Ben and Trevor play ramped up Click Pitch again this week and come up with some of their crazier ideas to date. A psychedelic pirate adventure, a game set in the abandoned amusement park in Chernobyl before the accident and a fantasy hospital where you play an anaesthetist with a mallet as your main anaesthetic tool.

Ben and Trevor welcome Andrew Freeth to the podcast and they come up with a number of interesting games including, Giants flinging humans around a battlefield, a typing game where you write a kickstarter press release and an erotic novel at the same time, a dark souls-esque romp through history and we reimagine what Brief Battles would be if Ben and Trevor had anything to do with it.

This week: choose the upgrade path of your vicious Australian marsupial, become the keeper of the World Clock, team up with other scientists and unravel a conspiracy, help the spirit that has possessed your non-dominant hand, and see what happens when Mrs Clause has her moment and takes her rightful place as head of the North Pole.

A multiplayer shooter with civilian npcs, a western Scooby Doo mystery, unusual laser pointers and a game based on a rejected song from Kurodust. * Includes the only surviving recording of the song "The 1000". *

Back to Click Pitch this week as Ben and Trevor dream up a multiplayer puppeteering game, the challenges of being a flight attendant, a flight combat game set in the aftermath of a modern US civil war, an RPG set in the world of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, a tactics game setting ballroom dancers against tap dancers, and a heartwarming story of a couple running a general store.

This episode we try out an old segment once again, Adventure Game Design Done Quick (AGDDQ), where we try to write the story and puzzles for a small point and click adventure game within the hour. The result is a narrative game that takes place over the three courses that are served to the captain's table.

Ben and Trevor go back to the Harry Potter well in a game played within the margins of a Potions spell book, get serious with a game about a man down on his luck and on the streets, do some deep world building in which a technology can tell you how long you have left to live, reveal what really happened to the Hindenburg, and more!
